Steam will generate a list of all available programs and executables found on your PC.Select “Add a Non-Steam Game” from the list.Click on the plus icon (“Add a game”) on the bottom left.Steam allows any game, regardless of its publisher or presence on the Steam store, to load from the platform as a non-native game. There is another method that will enable gamers to play their favorite titles through Steam. ![]() You can download free-to-play Origin titles in this manner and get the benefit of both Origin and Steam at the same time. We’d recommend sticking to Origin as the base platform for its games and use Steam where appropriate. However, since you’re basically paying for the game twice at that point, there is little reason to do that. I imagine Origin isn't really much different other than disabling it's own overlay. When you purchase a game this way, Steam will install it as if it’s a local game, but you’ll still need an Origin account to log into the game itself and save your progress. This is also the same way you get the Steam control to work with battle net as well, make sure it's exited, point to battle net NOT the game, launch that link, launch the game from there, kill bnet when the game starts should you feel like it. Usually on other storefronts and/or game launchers pointing to the store's library progam and acting as if it's a launcher does the trick. Assuming this works for you, don't forget to exit Origin before you play the game next time, as you've already found out, launching the game with it running already is not going to give you steam's overlay properly. Also, try making sure Origin's overlay is off, I've heard it does cause issues. Launch the shortcut WITHOUT Origin running in the background, then try launching the game. Make an entry for the game in Steam, point it to Origin NOT the game. However, I do use other publisher launchers such as Battle Net and generally the way to get these sorta things working is to treat the other store program as if it's a game's patcher/launcher. I won't lie and say that I use Origin much, I really don't. ^ This, exiting Origin is VERY likely a key here. r/SteamDeck /r/SteamInput /r/GyroGaming /r/SteamControllerMods /r/SteamControllerMusic /r/ControllerSupporters /r/Steam /r/Steam_Link /r/SteamBox /r/SteamHardware /r/SteamOS /r/Valve Filters (subreddit theme must be enabled) Discussion / Configuration: Off News / Meta: Off Support: Off Discussion / Configuration: Off News / Meta: Off Support: On Discussion / Configuration: Off News / Meta: On Support: Off Discussion / Configuration: Off News / Meta: On Support: On Discussion / Configuration: On News / Meta: Off Support: Off Discussion / Configuration: On News / Meta: Off Support: On Discussion / Configuration: On News / Meta: On Support: Off Discussion / Configuration: On News / Meta: On Support: On Meta - Posts regarding the subreddit itself.
